You Already Know That Me Bringing This Up Again Is Definitely a Throwback

Even all these years subsequently, still consider it one of best games always. Certain, by todays standards it'south unfair at times to compare certain aspects since todays systems have and so much more than memory, and tin can exercise and then much more than things, but for MVP Baseball 2005, there's yet then much from information technology that games today don't accept.

The soundtrack alone I think is i of(if not the) best soundtracks ever on a sports game. And who can forget about the minigames. Batting practice while having to hit the brawl towards a sure direction, fugitive obstacles, lining information technology upwardly a ramp, over a car, bouncing off a trailer over the argue lol. A minigame mode that was so fun, at times I just even played MVP Baseball that day for the minigames.

All these "throwback thursday" manufactures is making me miss video games lol. I'g "retired" from console games for the most office, just always fun to await back on games like this and recollect just how much I loved playing it. I spent so much time during summer vacation doing nothing but playing MVP Baseball 2005 lol. I was already a big baseball fan past so, but this game singlehandedly fabricated my involvement in baseball abound so much more.

As you tin can tell from my join date, this game is really the large reason why I fifty-fifty joined OS in the starting time place. Needing a good identify for "CAPs",equipment edits, among other things, came here to observe it. FFG shut downwards so this was all I had left to employ.

Human, I'll never forget this game. I would spend hours merely playing the mini games. The hitting was SO hard, but when you read a breaking pitch correct and made perfect contact, it was the best feeling I've possibly ever had in a sports game.

Still the best baseball game ever made. I have tried for years to get into The Bear witness considering I think their hearts are in the right place as far as including the fine details and nuances of the game, but the true event lies in the gameplay.

I call back you put it perfectly in that MVP was the perfect mix of "sim and arcade". Hitter's eye made the game incredibly fun, it always felt like yous had command over where y'all wanted to hit the ball to, the defensive controls were fantastic and responsive, and the games were quick and heady. Add in the fantastic commentary team, an amazing soundtrack, addicting mini-games, a points organisation that actually works, and an incredible Owner Mode, and you have yourself an all-time classic.

I still find it most comical that EA hasn't brought a baseball game dorsum nevertheless. I honestly bought a PS4 this console generation just to have a baseball game once more. You would think EA would recognize that there however is a market place for baseball games, peculiarly on Microsoft.

EA, bring baseball back. We know you dearest basketball game, but come on. Yous already have the formula. Update the graphics, add in some new physics, and you lot have yourself a franchise again.

My takeaway from watching the video inside the article: "Man... I forgot how big Sidney Ponson was."

Nonetheless the best hit controls in a baseball game. Left stick directs the hit, time it with the button press.

The Gilt Years of Sports Gaming - 98/99 through 07/08

I nonetheless have my MVP2005 PC game in the box/with instructions. The PC mods were crawly...I agree this along with High Heat were the two best games of that era (with a nod to ASB).

This was the baseball game game that came out a few months before my first child was born. I played sooooooo much of that game. I was yet working different schedules all the fourth dimension and didn't affair what time of day, before piece of work, after work, morning time noon and night. I'd be playing this game.

Very overrated game. Completely rushed presentation, like playing fast forrad baseball.

Still playing this MVP to this 24-hour interval. Absolutley amazing game. Hitting controls were corking, pitching controls could have been better but were still solid. Absolute shame that exclusivity killed it considering information technology could have became something truly special.

That would sell for a pretty penny FYI

Oh and that audio track is right upward there with Madden 2004 and MVP 2003 imo.

I've heard that...never looked into it, still, and don't know how much information technology would go for.

Made a few mods on MVP. Mods. Still play to this day and I have half the songs on spotify. Great game.

Everytime I've tried to buy the pc version it has always been selling for $100

I always thought the hitting was little likewise difficult (too many soft groundout), only the PC mods fixed that. I was still playing it equally recent as a twelvemonth or two agone.

Amazing article. Can't believe it's been and so long since MVP 05. Still have my old PS2 copy and my PC copy which the disc cracked somewhere. I spent then many hours playing MVP 05 that this article brought back so many good memories. I wish EA would make a new one.

IMO - even so the best Pre-Gen baseball game game!!

I definitely logged MANY hours into this game, and until the most recent versions of The Testify, probably more than hours than any baseball since. In that location was definitely a catamenia of viii-10 years afterwards MVP 05 that I didn't play much video game baseball.

As a fan of the college game, I really enjoyed MVP NCAA Baseball 06 and 07 besides and nevertheless play both of those to this 24-hour interval. I only really enjoyed that game engine, and while The Show is astonishing these days, it's a real shame EA has never gotten back into the MLB side of things. Crazy really..

In celebration of the captivating MLB postseason, this week's Throwback Thursday focuses on a particular baseball game many consider non only as the all-time baseball game of all-time, but ane of the greatest games ever made.
